Geertson (New Zealand) Family Tree
"Who Do You Think You Are?"
This is a TV program for celebrities to find their ancestors.
Well we can't provide the TV program, however, we can provide this website for anyone from the four (eventually eight) families.
One thing most genealogists will tell you is that they wish they had talked more to their parents about their family history. It is one of my major regrets. So this site will help to overcome this for you & me & for your children & grandchildren. It will help you answer their questions.
Perhaps this will also help you make those connections with where you came from, who you are related to and keep the connections you may have lost with your own direct family.
I have written mini profiles of everyone for the first three generations of people for each family. The profiles include information such as birth, marriage, death, dates & places, War service & Electoral Rolls. The latter shows what people were doing & where they lived.
What is needed is more information to round out each profile. So please take the time to send more information & dig out & scan photos, particularly of the profiled people, young & older, special items eg. family bible, places, special events, service records, homes etc.
I have started with the McCabe's.
Click on (Boyle) to read the background story of this family.
Click on (McCabe) to read the background story of this family.
Click on (McCabe List) to find the list of names of all three McCabe generations. The women are recorded under both their married & maiden names. Note the 'Family Reference' beside their names.
Click on (Boyle List) to find the list of names of all three Boyle generations.he women are recorded under both their married & maiden names. Note the 'Family Reference' beside their names.
In the search function, under PEOPLE enter either the name or code & it will take you to the PDF of the person's profile. Click on the PDF to see the full profile - as it is currently written.
This site aims to save much of that history, information, photos and archival material for all family members to view. It's part of all our heritage. One benefit of this family site is that any photos of people and historical archival material can never be lost once they are incorporated into the site. Please be part of it and continue to help add further material and information.
